The drama and excitement of the Belmont Stakes was sapped by the disappointing news of I’ll Have Another’s withdrawal from the race, but just like what happened at the Kentucky Derby and The Preakness, the Belmont Stakes featured another photo finish. Union Rags tracked down Paynter down the stretch to win the 144th running of the race. Matt Gardner of SB Nation recaps the race before looking ahead to The Breeders Cup and other upcoming events in the world of horse racing. Subscribe to our channel for more sports videos! Happy for him…he was my second favorite after IHA.

Yough going – but made it. I thought he would win more easily. Paynter was the ony real threat. Dullahan had no chance. I was surprised he did so well in the Derby. Would we have beaten I’ll Have Another? No way. Bodemeister? Yes. That one would have no gone the distannce.
