Charles Walton says:

I had mentioned in another video here on youtube that Medal Count was the
horse I liked in this race. Medal Count ended up coming in 3rd place.

Charles Walton says:

I have a theory of why NO horse has won the triple crown since 1978. Below
is the link to my video where I explain my theory:

eckythimble says:

Perhaps the clue was that CC ran a more impressive Preakness (shorter race)
than Derby. His jockey correctly labeled him “a speed horse who can rate”,
but that doesn’t necessarily translate into also being a stayer. On the
other hand hard to be tough on a horse who gets trodden on at the gate: I’d
like to see his next race at staying distance.

todd cook says:

WELL IT IS NOT FAIR IF YOU HAVE HORSES THAT RUN IN THE KENTUCKY DERBY,,AND
THEN YOU HAVE OWNERS WHO HOLD THERE HORSES FROM THE PREAKNESS AND THEN RUN
THEM IN THE BELMONT STAKES,,THEY HAVE FRESH HORSES,,THE POSSIBLE TRIPLE
CROWN WINNER HAS TO RUN IN EVERY RACE TO WIN THE TRIPLE CROWN ONLY THE
HORSES WHO QUALIFY TO RUN IN THE KENTUCKY DERBY SHOULD RUN IN ALL 3 ,,AND
IF YOU THE OWNER DECIDE TO HOLD YOUR HORSE OUT OF THE PREAKNESS OR THE
KENTUCKY DERBY YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO RUN IN THE BELMONT,,THIS IS
BULL CRA.P

Chris Wyrick says:

I wonder why 30+ years have passed since a horse was good enough to get the
triple crown. 11 triple crown horses in 70 years… Now all of a sudden…
Zero.

tradingbarracuda says:

.California Chrome ran his third Triple Crown race in five weeks. Only two
other horses in the 11-horse Belmont field also ran in all three. Ride On
Curlin was last and General a Rod was seventh.

Lisa T says:

The one jockey that visibly ran his horse into Chrome in the beginning
should be DQ’d! It was totally evident in the video there was some
unsportsman like behavior with them blocking Chrome. So much so that the
jockey finally decided to go around the outside and by that time Chrome was
behind and getting tired but ran his heart out anyway. Those other jockeys
should be ashamed. The owner may have handled it poorly but it was not a
kosher race. Today’s winner is not a Triple Crown winner. That horse is
ONLY the winner of the Belmont Stakes. Tonalist would have had to run in
all three races and win them all to be a triple crown winner.

Onyx Escence says:

What I saw was too many horses…they had no room to run. They should be
able to go flat out.

Lee SOG says:

Chrome wasn’t beaten by far. But the jockeying was far from the usual. I
think Victor flapped it. Seriously. He just had to hold his nerve, and ride
him like he always rode him in the past. I think he’ll be kicking himself.
But he was under immense pressure, so it’s understandable, to me at least.
And about the owner and the ‘cowards way out’ stuff he was saying..I can’t
even express how pathetic that logic is… Chrome really could have won,
but he was never winning with any authority.. I guess whatever horse breaks
the triple crown curse will need some serious pacroids up its ass

Goku Vegeta says:

Animal abuse for entertainment and money. So sad. Humankind needs to evolve
from human to kind.

Freemind Glory says:

bittersweet video

Mojo Risin says:

California Chrome’s owner was a complete jackass after the race. Calling
the horses that did not race in both the Preakness and Belmont “cowards”.
Crying sour grapes and just being a sore loser. No class.

Lawrence Kedz says:

I don’t like naming names, but anyone who refuses to accept the fact that
there is a problem with GMOs’, is either being financially renumerated or
is incredulously naive. Real science, (not those being paid by corporate
interests), will show precisely how damaging, self defeating, yet highly
profitable this science has been. However, it does not preclude the myriad
of reasons why this race was lost by Chrome.

Mami Avodah says:

Pht! Tonalist won by a nose…. And I dont think that horses that dont
qualify for (& hence run in) the Kentucky Derby should be running in the
Belmont. Only horses that run in both the KY Derby & Preakness should be
running in the Belmont. Thats like allowing Olympian athletes to compete
at the gold level when they didnt qualify to compete at the (earlier)
bronze or silver levels. Yet letting them come in the last minute lets
them essentially steal the gold & then avert an even bigger win for the
other team (who did participate & win in the earlier & lower level
events). Horses that havent had the grueling racing schedule from the KY
Derby, Preakness & then Belmont are obviously in better condition than
horses who have. Allowing fresh horses in on the last leg doesnt reflect a
truly great horse, but rather a horse who won one race b/c he was fresh &
rested. California Chrome is STILL the better horse! PS. You could see
that he wasnt rested & that his heart was 110% in it, he was just too tired
I think.

riskit101 says:

huge cc fan here, and as a better I took the loss…he looked mediocre no
excuses…hopefully hell race as a four year old…

todd cook says:

I JUST ASSUME I WANTED TO SEE A TRIPLE CROWN WINNER AGAIN,,I JUST FILL FOR
THE HORSES ANY HORSE THAT HAS A CHANCE AT WINNING THE TRIPLE CROWN SHOULD
HAVE ALL BACKING

bongo1543 says:

affirmed 2:26 4/5
secretariat 2:24 flat
tonalist 2 28.52
two triple crown winners times compared against tonalist. They had
already ran in two races and indeed ran the Belmont against fresh horses
and beat them. Looks like they might have beaten tonalist even though he
had fresh legs…

Eric jones says:

Chromes jockey should take blame. awful. boxed in moron.
